Message from Principal’s Desk:

Dear Parents, Teachers and Students,

One more year has been added to the glorious saga of St. Peter’s Karan Bagh. St. Peter’s KaranBagh is one of the newest and youngest unit of the Diocese of Jammu-Srinagar Education Society which administers 24 schools in Jammu. We bring well-known recognized education programmes to this part of the country. In the brief sixteen years of its existence, St. Peter’s, karanBagh has established itself as a premier institution of learning, providing quality education, and I consider it my proud privilege to be associated with such a prestigious institution, and present a report on the school happenings for the academic year 2017-2018.

But before I do that, I would like to dwell briefly on the changing times and the radical changes needed in the field of education. We are living in times where the pace of events is fast indeed. So fast, in fact that today’s latest becomes obsolete tomorrow. Alvin Toffler –one of the greatest contemporary thinker and writer calls it “The Future Shock”. Constant changes are must. Life is a process of constant changes and all healthy communities build for the future. In educating today’s youth we cannot afford to lose sight of the fact that we must teach them to grapple with the problems of their generations, their society and their world. Yesterdays’ solution to today’s problems would not suffice. The children of today need to be readied for the global stage – a generation of young people who are thinkers, inquirers, articulate and confident to take to the world stage and compete with the best brains in the world. This is exactly what we aim at doing at St. Peter’s KaranBagh.

With this aims and objectives, St. Peter’s Karanbagh toiled hard to obtain Non Objection Certificate from Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir Government. Our hard work has indeed produced desired outcomes. I am proud to tell you that St. Peter’s, Karanbagh is now ICSE affiliated school. I hope and believe, the ICSE affiliated St. Peter’s of today and tomorrow must retain the capacity and creativity to adapt itself to the needs of the time without sacrificing the good and time honoured ideals and moral values.

Like all great institutions, we have our dreams, ambitions and aspirations and to convert these into tangible realities if our goal. “Faith and Knowledge Enlighten” is the school spirit which we invoke to guide us throughout. The happenings at St. Peter’s Karanbagh during the past and current year reflect and resolve to our efforts. Allow me to glance through various activities that we had undertaken in the previous academic session 2017-2018.

The Academic year 2017-2018 began on 10th April. We commenced our year invoking special blessings of God. Rev. Fr. Santosh Athickal graced the occasion with his prayerful blessings.

On 12th April St. Peter’s Students attempted to enter in Gunnies world record by creating the longest painting with the maximum number of students.

This year we had a unique Annual Day. It was celebrated on 25th and 26th April. First time our students performed various dances and skit along with visually impaired students from Jeevan Jyoti School, Varanasi by portraying theme: Love is our life and Respect is our back bone. The objective of such effort was to integrate physically challenged persons in the society.

To make my report brief, we had following activities :

1st May: Labour’s Day

5th May: Orientation to Pre-Primary Parents

13th May: Investiture Ceremony and Installation of Students’ Council

22nd July: Art and Craft Exhibition

12th August: Seminar on communication skills for the classes 11th and 12th

5th September: Teachers’ Day Celebration

24th October: Petrine day

17th November: Inspection by the Diocese of Jammu-Srinagar Education Society

18th November: Children’s Day

19th November: Grand-Parents Day

23rd December: Christmas Day Celebration

7th February: Camp for the Dental Check-up for the entire school

Academically, this has been a magnificent year. We have once again proved our worth by clinching five positions in the Board examinations of class 8th. I extend my hearty congratulations to my dearest students, parents and dedicated teachers. We obviously still await the results of our Board examinations of class 10th, and 12th.

We wish to walk hand in hand with today’s technology drawing all possible benefits for our students and Parents. And thus after SMS service, now we have School website, E-Library, E-language lab, E-Maths Labs, and Parent App that gives all the information of all students daily basis.

This year we have begun “online payment gateway” Please log into website of school website and in the Parent Portal, you will find fees module. May I request humbly to use this facility extensively to make our economy cashless. It also saves lot of time, energy and always eco-friendly.

Besides excelling at academics, and their projects, it gives us immense satisfaction that our students have also been very active in the field of co-curricular activities. A warm applause to all the students who brought laurels to the school by giving  incredible and outstanding performance in the competitions held by the Diocese of Jammu-Srinagar Education Society.

During my almost 3 years of interaction with parents at the school, I have found you all a very enlightened group who take your parenting role very seriously. We are aware of the great trust you have reposed in us and it will be our constant endeavour to live upto your expectations of us. Thank you very much for all the understanding and support we have been receiving from you all at the school.

I would like to place on record my most sincere thanks to Diocese of Jammu-Srinagar and Society that I belong to. My report on the school would be incomplete if I did not make mention of our wonderful team of teacher and office staff who work with dedication and put in their all out effort for the welfare and education of their charges. My thanks to the entire team of support staff for their ‘behind the scene’ work to keep the school tidy and presentable. Last but the most important, a few words to the students. History of mankind is proof that it is always a few good people who have made all the difference and made our world a better place. So you are invited to make difference in our society and in the world at large.

May God bless you all!
